![]() ![]() Thanks to those who voted and congratulations to PeaZip! Update: SquirrelMail took third place by a narrow margin, which is very respectable considering the quality projects that were nominated. ![]() We're up against some really great software, so if you'd like to vote, see It's been nine and a half years since SquirrelMail was the SourceForge Project Of The Month, and we have again been nominated for that privilege. NEWS: SquirrelMail Nominated For SourceForge Project Of The Month There is one patch for each of the two SquirrelMail SVN snapshot versions available on our downloads page. UPDATE:If you are running SquirrelMail under PHP 5.4, please help test and refine the patches found here. Especially if you use the Mail Fetch plugin and want to upgrade to PHP 5.4, you should download one of our snapshot packages. With the recent release of PHP version 5.4, some community members have helped identify some small issues which we've fixed and made available in our daily snapshot packages located on our downloads page. PHP 5.4 and PHP 5.5 compatibility fixes are live in our nightly snapshots, and we strongly encourage those who'd like to help test or those who are having problems with version 1.4.22 to download a snapshot and report any problems. We encourage all SquirrelMail administrators to use a recent snapshot of either version and as always, let us know if there are any fixes, additions or changes you think SquirrelMail would benefit from. ![]() But it means that I'll do what I can, or suggest a secondary resource. The nightly snapshots for versions 1.4.23 and 1.5.2 found on our download page include compatibility for the newest versions of PHP 8. That doesn't mean I can help everyone, after all I'm human. This thread might be old, but I still think can be quite useful. I won't cover that discussion hear, other than to say that if you're experiencing problems, check /etc/hosts first, and then if that still fails and you keep getting this login error, check what I've mentioned above to this old thread. This also causes programs like Squirrelmail, that need to know what your hostname is, to not work properly.Īs an example localhost entry, you might want something like the following:ġ27.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhostįor any IPV6 entries, you should be abel to make that work as well. The second box after that, should be set to DNS.Ĭhanging the first box from "hosts file" to anything else, causes you're host files entries to be rather pointless. The first box should be set for "Hosts file." Might have missed that exact section, but you will find a "DNS resolution order" set of boxes. Why am I getting this php getaddr or whatever that is on top of the error?Įffectively, you need to be careful about some DNS settings under the webmin/networking/DNS Host client section. Should I try recreating sql databases, etc?īefore anyone asks, I have a localhosts line, and that is not the problem at all. Is there a bug in the squirrelmail installer script? I'm using CentOS6, Virtualmin Professional installed.Īlso, when I looked at the admin mailbox information (admin being the user in this case) but could be any other user, zero logins have been recorded. ERROR: Set User Data plugin is configured with an unknown data handler '' The correct contact information is most likely to be found in the plugin documentation.Īttachment dir OK. This shouldn't be a problem with SquirrelMail or any plugin coded coded according to the SquirrelMail Coding Guidelines, but if you experience problems with PHP code being displayed in some of the pages and changing setting to "on" solves the problem, please file a bug report against the failing plugin. ERROR: You have configured PHP not to allow short tags (short_open_tag=off). You need to go run in the config/ directory first before you run this script.Ĭonfig file last modified: 02 January 2012 13:27:46 This script will try to check some aspects of your SquirrelMail configuration and point you to errors whereever it can find them. If I run the squirrelmail configtest.php script, I get: Nmap shows imap port as open, along with pop3. ![]() I am using the Squirrelmail installer script. Any ideas?Įrror connecting to IMAP server: localhost.Ġ : php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known I get the following error when typing say the username of: .Īlso, I don't understand why I would receive this error.
